Music We Love

Musical taste is a very personal thing. I personally don't like music that is self focused, or unbiblical, or whose lyrics are shallow. I don't like to listen to artists that are all about performance or those who mimic the world. That's my personal preference.

I have just discovered this family. I really enjoy the sincerity of their songs. They offer free downloads or paid albums on their website.
Both Scripture in Song and Marantha Music have music from the 70's and 80's that I prefer to more recent music.
Now, I don't know if this is a bit embarrassing, but I don't mind a bit of Petra at times. It's 80's rock style and I've been told it's really bad musically.... However, I've found it to be uplifting when I feel oppressed and the lyrics are scriptural. Look them up on YouTube if you haven't heard of them! Some of it does just sound like screaming metal music (not a fan), and others are just choruses remade, which I do like.
When my teenage neighbour visited when I was listening to this, she asked my sons if I was having a mid-life crisis!!!! She surprisingly liked it but was used to me listening to much more mellow music!
